Who Am I?

ThePrimaryMaven

It all began with an idea. My love for teaching children how to read, led me to write a series of workbooks and create educational resources, focusing on Reading & Language Skills.

Meet Sonya Hill, ThePrimaryMaven. With years of experience teaching grades Kindergarten, First and Second, I realized there was a big problem in primary education- READING! I took matters into my own hands and began to spend the majority of the day giving my students direct and small group instruction in Reading, Language, Handwriting and Mathematics. We didn’t focus on anything else. I got tired of witnessing my colleagues struggle to teach the appropriate skills for their grade level, due to a lack of foundational skills. Data quickly proved that my explicit instruction, repetition, and consistency, allowed my students to learn much more than the Kindergarten curriculum in short time, with 85-90% of my students performing on or above grade level.

Now, I want to help you!
